in the evening. Sisters take so long to dress, so that we arrived at least half-an-hour late. I arranged to dance most of the dances with Margaret, but she left early. I dined with Eileen Astley-Roberts—we had great fun. We returned home at 4.0 a.m.

Went to a Tango tea at the Devonshire Park.
It was considered bad form to dance there so I only watched.
18th January 1914
Played golf with Patrick Kenny at the Willingdon Links. Was 4 up. Had tea with him at the Grand Hotel. We discussed music, art and literature. He is so interesting. He is a home-ruler and Roman Catholic which makes things more interesting still, as my views of politics and religion are entirely opposed to his.
