Dear Friend -
I received a pair of socks a few days ago with this envelope in it addressed to you.
I thank you very much for sending the socks as we were needing them quite badly when we got a bunch of them. This wet weather wears socks out in a very short time. We have been quite successfull on our part of the line lately. Have driven the Germans back quite a distance. Will close again thanking you very much for the socks.
Your Soldier Friend
