Dear Marilyn
Thank you for your request. We have the registers of Anglican churches only. I checked your mother's name in Parish register C from St. James, Port Colborne and did not find her name listed.

Best wishes,

Renu Barrett

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have just found out the firm of Copp Clark published Maarten Maartens' novel "The Price of Lis Doris" in 1909. To the best of my knowledge very few people researching the life and times of this Dutch author were aware of this. The book was originally published by Methuen in London in 1909 and an American edition appeared in the same year (Appleton). Is there any information in your files about the negotiations between Methuen and Copp Clark? Do you know about the size of the Canadian edition? I am writing to you as the chairman of the Maarten Maartens Foundation in The Netherlands, for more information may I refer you to our website www.maartenmaartens.nl

If any information should be available at your end, we should dearly like to have copies of the documents in question, which we would be glad to pay for.

I should be most grateful for your help.

Kind regards,
Bouwe Postmus

Dear Bouwe Postmus, Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is no mention of Maarten at all in the Copp Clark archives, nor do we even have a copy of their edition of 'The Price of Lis Doris'. I am sorry that we are not able to answer your questions. Sincerely, Rick Stapleton.
